This is accomplished through a variety of jobs and activities – led by staff for the purpose of serving campers. - Ropes Course / Rock Wall Facilitation
- Waterfront and Pool Lifeguarding
- Riflery and Archery
- Outdoor / Nature Adventure Facilitation
- Horseback Riding
- Athletics and Games

The Twin Lakes Summer Staff consists of 3 main types of positions: Counselor Positions, Support Staff Positions, and Leadership Positions.
Counselor Positions:
Counselors and Assistant Counselors — As the front lines of our ministry, counselors lead a cabin of 7 to 10 campers by caring for their spiritual and physical needs at camp. They also lead daily morning and evening devotionals, work 2 activity periods each day at a specific activity site and help facilitate our nightly programs.
Senior Counselors— Experienced Counselors who help mentor and connect with new counselors leading up to and during camp. They have additional responsibility and leadership opportunities by assisting in Unit Meetings and aspects of staff training. They have a willingness to have a flexible Activity period to assist in multiple aspects of camp by serving in different capacities. They play a key role in being the heartbeat of the Twin Lakes culture.
Support Staff Positions:
These positions exist for the purpose of handling camp details in a wide range of responsibilities so that counselors can focus on their specific ministry to their cabin. Support staff, though they do not have their own cabins, are still with campers whenever possible and have lots of interaction with kids.
Wranglers — Though some counselors will work the horseback activity, we hire full-time wranglers to care for the horses throughout the summer. They are responsible for the horse barn and the entire horseback program. One wrangler will be hired as the Head Wrangler, who will lead the activity and make all final decisions regarding the horseback program.
Photographer — The Camp Photographer is responsible for capturing each week of the summer and all of its memories through photos. Each day, the photographer seeks to take pictures of every cabin, as well as candids of Twin Lakes life, staff, and scenery. Each night, the photographer uploads all of the day’s photos to our website and organizes files for future use.
Videographer — The Camp Videographer is responsible for capturing each week of the summer and all of its memories through film. Each day, the videographer seeks to film every cabin, as well as Twin Lakes life, staff, and scenery. Each night the videographer uploads all of the day’s footage, organizes files, and begins the editing process for each week’s camper highlight video.
Mary Poppins — This support staff member cares for families at camp by looking after their young children. Married staff and Doctor’s families will look to Mary Poppins to help with the challenge of looking after their duties while caring for their families.
Wonder Woman — As an office work assistant and a staff free to run into town for supplies at a moment’s notice, Wonder Woman lives up to her name! She is able to care for the staff through discipling, providing for them by stocking the staff kitchen, and coordinating many of our staff fellowship traditions.
Healthcare Staff Member — Healthcare staff members work with the Camp Doctor to distribute medications and provide basic care to campers and staff. They can be called upon at any moment to care for the sick, comfort a camper, and ensure the health and safety of the entire camp.
Camp Assistant — As an integral part of the daily operation of the camp, the Camp Assistant serves in a variety of capacities and roles. From assisting in programs and activities to daily set-up and clean-up needs, this person helps the camp leadership run the entire camp program in an effective and orderly fashion.
Leadership Positions:
Most leadership positions are held for returning staff. If you are interested, please contact one of the Summer Camp Directors. Leadership works closely with the Directors to protect and minister to the entire staff as they minister to the campers, as well as manage many aspects of the overall camp program.
Leader in Training Directors — These counselors run the Twin Lakes Leader In Training (L.I.T.) program for campers aged 13 – 15. L.I.T.s, and thus their directors, are responsible for the set-up and clean-up of all of the meals at camp. The L.I.T. Directors are responsible for discipling and leading the L.I.T.s in Christ-like leadership. They lead devotionals and coordinate nightly activities for the L.I.T.s.
Program Director — This leadership staff member works closely with the Camp Directors to plan and execute the Summer Camp Program. These programs include Assembly times, where the Gospel is presented through music, skits, and teaching, and Nightly Programs, which facilitate relationships with campers by providing a structured event for community development (Counselor Hunt, Girl’s Night, Guy’s Night, Cabin Free Time, Wild Wednesday and Fun Friday).
Activities Director — Each activity site has an Activity Supervisor – a counselor who has been given the responsibility to lead the activity in fun and safety. The Activities Director serves the activity supervisors by providing accountability, ordering supplies, and coordinating activity schedules. The Activities Director is also responsible for Treehouse time – a daily free time where campers can enjoy our 3-story tree house, swings, games, and watermelon or popsicles.
Unit Director — Twin Lakes is divided into 4 units – Lakeside girls and boys and Woodside girls and boys. The Unit Director is responsible for every counselor and camper in their unit. They counsel and minister to the staff while coordinating the needs of campers and parents.
